About Us

 

  • North Island Firearm Safety Courses (NIFSC) offers the Canadian Firearms Safety Course - PAL - and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course -RPAL - in Campbell River and in communities on Vancouver Island and the Islands.
  • NIFSC will adapt and customize courses for specific clients and organizations to insure our students receive the required training in an efficient and effective format.
  • NIFSC's Instructors take our courses on-the-road and bring CFSC/CRFSC training to you and your friends and neighbours in your own community.

PAL Courses

 

  • The Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course are the first steps new firearms owners must take in order to get their Possession and Acquisition Licenses. Once they have taken the courses and passed the written and practical exams they may make application to the RCMP - Canadian Firearms Program for their licenses.

Who should take our Courses

 

  • Your PAL and RPAL will enable you to purchase firearms and ammunition for the following purposes:  hunting, target shooting or competition, firearms collecting or employment in a lawful profession or occupation.
  • Hunters are required to have PALs in order to own the rifles and shotguns which they use in their various hunting sports, i.e., big game, upland game birds or waterfowl.
  • Target shooters require PALs and RPALs in order to participate in the various shooting sports.
  • Firearms Collectors require PALs and RPALs to purchase firearms and to maintain their collections.
  • People inheriting firearms  will need to have the proper Possession and Acquisition Licenses.
  • Armoured Car Guards and related occupations are required to have RPALs in order to carry restricted firearms as part of their duties.
